Here’s a picture from one of my summer adventures, a grueling backpacking trip with Mr. Hadley to Devil’s Punchbowl, a mountain lake in northern California. This is a rare plant called Darlingtonia. It is also called cobra lily and it grows only in a few places. Don’t worry–it doesn’t bite! It only eats insects!
