We did a much better job of showing up for Super Sentences yesterday. Fifteen students were there on time and 20 kids ended up posting a sentence. If you want me to have everything posted early so that you can get going in the morning, then we need more like 23 or 24 people in the Super Sentences thread at 9 a.m. We also need more comments from you. It seems like you’re posting your sentence and then running away. You need to provide feedback to your classmates. Yesterday we had only 45 total posts. We should have twice that!
Today’s ordering fractions assignment is much tougher, so we’ll have a Zoom math lesson at 9:30, right after Super Sentences. You have Worksheet A and Worksheet B for class work. Use the key check your work after each problem before moving on to the next. You can cheat, or not bother to do the work, but it’ll ruin you on the math quiz later this week, so work at it. You have Worksheet C and Worksheet D for homework.
We have another Storyworks activity, this one about worms and includes a quiz. It’s in Classwork along with your Daily Checklist, your End-of-Day Review, and a vocab puzzle called “Catch a Word Worm.”
Here on the Platy you have another Shadows read aloud, a history entry, and for PE, it’s a fitness choice day. Do whatever you want but it needs to include at least 20 minutes of aerobic exercise. That means you have to get your heart pumping hard for twenty minutes. Jogging, fast bicycle riding (but be safe), intense exercises, or something else that gets your heart going strong.
I’ve also re-posted your Chapter Book Project. It’s due next week, so you need to finish reading your current chapter book and create a project. Instructions are in Classwork. Also, tomorrow we’ll have a Mini-Math warm-up competition. The way to do it is to write down all the answers on a sheet of paper so that when I say, “What’s the answer to the second measurement problem in section 5?” you can quickly type in the answer and get the point. Last week Madison won. I’ll somehow, some way get a special reward out to winners. Have a good day, and STAY STRONG!
