Welcome back to class, kids! I hope you had a nice Easter weekend. Today you have 4 activities on The Platy and 6 activities in Classroom. Once you’ve checked out the schedule, jump over to Classroom and answer today’s clicker question. It’s our only “interactive” activity this morning, so it’s also your chance to say hello.
Here on the Platy:
MATH: Lowest Common Denominator (or Least Common Multiple). Sounds scary but isn’t (all you have to do is look at the times tables for each number and find the lowest number that’s the same). Read 216 and 217 of the text book, watch the video (by another former student, a neat kid named Jonah), and then try Worksheet C. When you’re finished, use the key to check yourself. If you’re getting it, move on to Worksheet D. It also has a key. After that, go to Classroom and do the Exit Ticket (a mini quiz) and get your homework sheets: worksheet E and worksheet F. Yeah, that’s a lot of worksheets, but there are only 5 problems on each! Cake! By the way, this is the last week I’ll include PDFs of the textbook pages on the Platy. You’re all supposed to have your textbook at home.
HISTORY: Harriet Beecher Stowe—the little lady who “started” the Civil War.
PE: Choose one of the four workouts posted on the PE tab and do your best to complete it. Report about it on your End of the Day Quiz
READ ALOUD: Room of Shadows Ch. 14—Definitely starting to get spooky so I’m reading it in my own secret room.
In Classroom:
READING: Another exiting story about an escape from slavery, this one about a fella named Robert Smalls. It includes a quiz, which is on a Google Form (which means it’s graded, so do your best!)
WRITING: A Perfect Paragraph unscramble based on the movie Holes (a good movie; and even better book).
MATH: An Exit Ticket (that’s like a mini-quiz) and your homework. (Homework. That’s a funny concept these days, isn’t it?)
Plus DARE (Family lesson #1…due by the weekend), your READING LOG, and an End of Day Quiz
Finally, we have a class Zoom meeting at 1 p.m. As always, I’ll send out the invite on Classroom just beforehand. Officer Ashwill is supposed to be with us, so have your DARE questions ready. See you then!
