CPE fifth graders who have completed the DARE program will be participating in graduation ceremonies on Monday, May 22nd, at 12:45. The DARE is a nationwide drug resistance education program that teaches kids how to overcome peer pressure, deal with bullying, and say no to illegal substances. The Central Point Police Department is the only southern Oregon agency to offer the program, meaning only CPE, Jewett, and Mae Richardson kids receive this important training. This is a big event at CPE. Not only are our students graduating from DARE, in a sense this is also their graduation from elementary school. We encourage kids to dress up and we encourage families to attend.
Congrats to Suzy Foster for being selected to read her DARE essay at graduation!
Graduates also get to attend DARE Day at Twin Creeks Park on June 2nd. This all-day event is the post-graduation celebration. More info to come!
