Last week, the Room 15 Rotters were tested on crafting dialogue sentences with alternate tags (rather than using ‘said’). Their topic choices included peanuts, the ex-planet Pluto, and zombie apocalypse. To meet standards, they had to have a capital and endmark, properly used quotation marks, an alternate tag, correct spelling, and correct punctuation. “I will snipe them poorly,” yapped Zack during a Magic Peanut attack.
I’d like to eat some peanuts too!” yelled Alex when he saw Tucker in a big bowl of it.
” I love peanuts,” explained Hunter while he was eating dinner.
“Ahh!zombies are eating my brain!”screamed Kyrah,but then she realized she didn’t have a brain. (Need to capitalize ‘zombies’ because it starts a new sentence inside the quotes)
”Don’t feed my pet zombie!” yelled Tucker when he found Blake eating peanuts.
“I will name her Peanut!” yelled Trinity while she was naming her new dog.
We’re under attack by a zombie!” yelled Logan when he saw that it was just his mom wearing too much makeup.
“I just adore zombie apocalypse!” shouted Morgan while kissing a zombie.
“Did you know that if you take off your helmet on Pluto, it will take only five seconds for your head to turn to ice?” I explained to my students.
“It’s really cold on Pluto,” explained Jordan.
” I love to eat peanuts with small candy stars!” yelled Christina when Kyrah took the small candy stars away.
“I want a peanut butter party,” Kalli told her mom at the store.
One time there was a zombie apocolypse, and the zombie was about to fart but then Elijah yelled, ”Nooooo!”
“One time I saw Tyler eat a Peanut and Pluto exploded”said Zack when Tyler was eating peanuts. (A comma should separate was was said and the word said; supposed to be sentences using an alternative tag)
“Yesterday, I got a new dog named Pluto,”spoke Mr.Lewis.
“Mommy, Daddy, should I rename Kitty Cuddles, Puppy Pluto, or Pickled Peanut Animal?” Jordan exclaimed to her practice mirror.
“Kyrah, your brain is the size of a peanut!” yelled Mr.Lewis while looking at her math test.
” My fat zombie likes peanuts.” yelled Zack. (You should have a comma after peanuts, nut a period)
”I got eaten in a zombie apocalypse” screamed zack at his dead grandma. (Uh oh, where’s your comma?)
“Hey Pluto , are you a zombie? ” yelled Morgan as she was eating a peanut.
“Stay away from that glass case; It will start a zombie apocalypse if you open it!” yelled Amy at her co-worker.
“Yesterday I saw a Oreo using a fire drill!” yelled Molly.
”I love Oreos because there delicious!”yelled Alyssa
