  1. Booth was found hiding inside a barn by Union soldiers, and they set it on fire. Booth wouldn’t come out so one of the soldiers shot him. He lived for three hours before gazing at his hands, muttering “Useless, useless,” as he died.

  3. I was fascinated by the fact that Jhon Wilkes Booth was only 26 years old when he killed Lincoln in the Fords Theater at Washington, D.C. . Exactley 12 days after the assassanation of Mr. Lincoln. Booth was found in a barn hiding in Virginia as Union soldiers track him down and Booth finds his death. Plus the Fords Theater is still open today and people still use it for performing arts. 🙂

He died at the age of 26 as a plam reader had told him when he was young he would live a short life. The barn that he was hiding in was burned. his stops to the barn were Maryland and Lucas’s Farm!

Around midnight he stopped at Mary Surratt’s tavern in Surrattsville. At 4:00 a.m. Booth and Harold arrived at Dr.Mudd’s home where Mudd fixed Booth’s broken leg. Federal Authorities caught up with Booth and Harold at Garrett’s Farm near Port Royal, Virginia. The Federal Autorities told him to give up and come out of the barn where he was hiding but Booth stayed in while Harold left. The Federal Authorities decided to set the barn on fire but still there was no way that Booth would come out, so the Federal Authorities shot Booth to death. This all happened 12 days after the assassination of President Lincoln.
