Our last week before the winter break was chock full of activities and events. The team comprised of Sonja, Tyler, Cole, Lance, and Celina won History Jeopardy with a score of $24,300. History Jeopardy served as a study activity for the trimester exam on which students averaged 77%. Not too shabby. Room 15 kids also completed their second Adopt-a-Street litter clean-up of Hopkins Street. Due to time constraints we weren’t able to weigh our trash, but it was evident the kids picked the street clean. Great job! A special thanks Mrs. Collom, Mrs. & Mrs. Medina, Taylor Rose’s grandma, and former CPE kid and Crater graduate Derek Bucher, all who served as chaperones. We also want to thank Taylor Rose’s dad, Steve DeClerck, for providing all the pizza and soda for our class party. Mr. DeClerck owns Round Table Pizza in Medford.
More thanks to all of you who dropped me a note, sent in a card, or provided a gift. Much appreciated.
Finally, I want to acknowledge two former students who’ve received some well-deserved attention at Hanby Middle School. Former CPEr Martha Bautista was named the Elks Student of the Month for October, and former SVE Room 3 kid Tarisha Goosman was named Student of the Month for November. Great job, girls!
Happy Holidays to everyone. Kids report back to class on Tuesday, January 3rd.
