Room 15 Update

Pure and simple, the focus this week is on wrapping up loose ends, completing assignments, tabulating grades, and preparing report cards for next week’s parent-teacher conferences. If you haven’t yet scheduled a conference, do so by clicking on the Conference Schedule tab above. In class, language arts students are to complete their current Book Club reading by Thursday, at which time they’ll have a test activity. They also have a spelling test on Wednesday. Math students, meanwhile, are beginning a unit on multi-digit factors (1,234 x 567, for example).  Here’s their homework: Monday, Nov. 14; Tuesday, Nov. 15; Wednesday, Nov. 16; Thursday, Nov. 17.

There’s no school this Friday. This is an Inservice Day, a day for teachers to complete report cards. Please note, however, that for much of the last two weeks D6 teachers have been spending long hours every night working on this task.  There is also no school all next week due to parent-teacher conferences and the Thanksgiving holiday. Students will return to school on Monday, November 28th. Finally, this Thursday in Room 15 is our Fiesta de las Pijamas–a pajama party. Students may wear pajamas, bring pillows and stuffed animals, and electronics. We’ll have some special treats and spend the last hour or so of the day watching short films related to our play performances last week.
