Look at all these great kids! Room 15 4th and 5th graders are hard at work in history, math, reading, writing, and more. In 5th grade reading, students have started our first round of “mini book clubs” in which the kids are reading from a variety of short Roald Dahl novels. Students are also working on their first set of spelling words, on which they’ll be tested this Friday. In 4th grade math, students are starting a new unit covering place value. This material is always challenging, so be prepared to help your child at night. Here’s the homework for 4th grade math: Monday, September 26, Tuesday, September 27, Wednesday, September 28, Thursday, September 29. This week we’ll also be setting a date for our first Hopkins Street Clean-up, for which we’ll need lots of parent help. Also, be sure to mark your calendars about our February 10th field trip to the 23rd Annual Jo County Tree Plant. We’ll have room for six or seven adult chaperone to join us on this always popular trip, so let me know early if you plan to attend.
