Dare I promote a Hollywood movie on our classroom website? Having spent the last 18 years teaching the books, short stories, and poems of Roald Dahl, how could I not tell you about the upcoming release of Fantastic Mr. Fox from director Wes Anderson? One of our independent reading groups just finished the book, so the movie’s November 25th release is timely. If I’m not mistaken, this brings to seven the number of movies based on Dahl books. This one is rated PG.

AWESOME!!! I think I feel a field trip coming on — or extra credit, at least! I loved this book when I was a kid — I had a whole imaginary network of tunnels dug in my own backyard where I would reenact the story! Thanks for sharing the trailer — we’re marking our calendar today!
